Toplou Monastery wine tasting

Toplou Thrapsathiri Vilana is a white wine, available in 750 ml bottle. This dry white wine is cultivated from the vineyards of organic farming from the Holy Monastery of Toplou, one of the most significant and historic monasteries in Crete.

Toplou white dry wine

Delicate citrus and floral aromas of ripe apple with a touch of honey and some dried flowers. Full body with a fruity aftertaste and balanced acidity. Perfectly with dishes of white meat and seafood. The wine has been rewarded with a gold a Gold Medal at the Thessaloniki International Wine Competition in 2011 and commended several times at Decanter World Wine Awards. Made of the indigenous grape varieties Vilana and Thrapsathiri.

Vilana is the island’s white star with its fascinating fine aroma, its light taste and its refreshing lemon-scented acidity. Thrapsathiri is a variety grown everywhere in Crete, offering balanced wines, rich in flavor. This is where the white PDO Sitia wines draw their particular taste from. Available on the internet and in local supermarkets for under 10 Euro.
